Mac Duffy

Mac Duffy is an accomplished Interactive Storyteller with over 18 years of experience entertaining people of all ages as actor, storyteller, improviser, comedian, Emcee, puppeteer, and even Universal Studios Tour Guide.

If Bill Murray and Mr. Bean had a kid, he'd be me. I am the charmingly goofy uncle/brother/friend whom moms adore, dads confide in, and kids love - mostly because I'm a big kid at heart, sufficiently responsible but with a healthy dose of wit and mischief.” ~ Mac Duffy

Over the past few years, you have seen Mac in TV spots for AT&T, Microsoft, AAMCO, and Toyota, to name a few. His other credits include several independent films, a web series pilot produced by and starring Jason Alexander, and numerous and varied onstage productions, both in New York and LA.

Some of Mac’s favorite recent “extracurricular” highlights are: hosting the International Family Film Festival Awards, enhancing his Improv training under the direction of Gary Austin (founder of the Groundlings), and assisting renowned Laugh Factory owner, Jamie Masada, once again at The Laugh Factory’s Comedy Camp for Underprivileged Kids & Teens.

Throughout his entertainment career, Mac has dedicated much of his time working with children and their families in a variety of capacities, including storyteller, comedian, director, writer, camp counselor, and acting & Improv coach. His philosophy is that we are all brilliant creators, and it is a great privilege to lend a hand, helping someone, whether tall or small, become fearless creators, able to share their gifts without hesitation in front of any audience, filled with joy and sense of purpose.

Mac has returned home to New York City to continue his work as an artist and mentor. He credits his beautiful wife, Kate, whose love and support inspires him to reach new heights at every moment.

Some Reviews

“Mac Duffy reminds me of a younger Garrison Keillor.  You're looking at his innocent face and listening to the casual tone and then something he says from left field makes you explode with laughter.  Like all great storytellers, Duffy delivers surprise, surprise, surprise.”
~ Rubin Carson, Humorist, Writer, & Entertainment & Travel Columnist

You were an integral part of the success of the Kids Can Cure Expo and Fun Run. We appreciate your energy, passion, and talent as a storyteller, as well as the incredible way you manage to captivate 200 children and their parents. We hope you will work with us again in years to come."

“I’ve hired many entertainers for our company events over the years but one person stands out above them all . . . Mac Duffy. His talents as an entertainer received many compliments. It was a pleasure to work with him and receive so much more than what I thought we would get . . . he gives from the heart.”

"While filming Piggly's Storyteller Playhouse, we brought in Mac Duffy as one on our kid handlers.  Mac was so entertaining and engaging with the kids, I would not hesitate to hire him again especially as one of our storytellers!  I fully expect to see Mac touring with his own show, or possibly even TV show!"
